Velayudhaswami thiru kovil located at the hill rock in the, the hill range that belongs to the temple is called arunattar malai. it located at uttukuli in erode district of tamil nadu state. this is the most ancient temple in the history of tamil, because nobody knows about the origin of this temple, but it was renovated by the rulers in recent years. temple car in the hill is the star attraction at velayudhaswami thiru kovil. according to hindu mythology, sage agsthya was choose this pace for his meditation but he cannot find the water source any where, lord muruga help him. a water source was formed by the ability of muruga and then the place was known as utrukuli and then called uttukuli.

Thai poosam is the mass festival at velayudhaswami thiru kovil, the procession of carrying out the prime deiy with his consorts are the star attraction on sixth day of this festival. thirukarthigai is another main festival, it falls on karthigai day of tamil months karthika. uttukulai is the nearest city at a distance of 14 km t connect to other cities by different type of bus services, this is also the nearest rail head. the nearest possible airport focused at Coimbatore at a distance of 46 km.
