According to hindu mythology,during he time of treta yuga people suffered the cruelties of ravana and the asuras,the gods decided to create a divine personality in the form of a girl,for the protection of them,a girl was born from vishnu’s lineage,she was to re produce dharma on earth,later the same girl known with the name vaishno.navarathri festival usually appears in september or october is a main festival in vaishno devi temple.on these nine days devi worshiped in different forms,first three days worship mahakali second three days for mahalakshmi and last three days for saraswathy.navarathri festival 2017 will held from 21st september to 29th september diwali,ramanavami and mahasivarathri celebrated with a great prominence.the temple is always opens for the devotees.

The temple is open for the devotees all over the year,the months from march to october is best to choose for journey because the whether is cool and pleasant. there are bus,train and air services to reach the temple,the central bus stand connects buses to the katra,from here there is 13 km to walk and takes four hours to climb and 3 hours to back.the nearest railway station is jammu.if you choose the air then the closest airport is jammu with a distance 48 km from katra,when you reach katra there is helicopter services to the temple.it will get only by booking.
