This is the most popular and largest pooram’s in kerala. There are 2 participants in pooram, Western Group and Eastern Group. They are Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady. fireworks, caparisons, elephants, kudamattam, Ilanjithara Melam etc are some of the terms related with pooram. Flag Hoisting – this is known ad kodiyettu, pooram celebrations starting with the flag hoisting. This will happens seven days before the pooram. All the participants will attend the pooram kodiyettu ceremony. There will light fireworks happening on the poroam kodiyettu day. Sample fireworks aka sample vedikkettu will happen after fourth day of kodiyettam. now there is some restrictions with fireworks, there will be less chances with full fledged fireworks at pooram festival.
