Thrikalanjoor mahadeva temple is also known as kalanjoor mahadeva temple is one of the main shiva temples in kerala located in pathanamthitta district, this sis also a main pilgrim center of the devotees who go to sabarimala temple, the temple is provide the resting facilities for ayyappa devotees in mandalakalam. pathanamthitta is blessed with the water of achankovil river.

it situated 80 km south west of sabarimala ayyappa temple through moovattupuzha state high way. the prime attraction of the Thrikalanjoor mahadeva temple is the presence of a huge banyan tree at the courtyard it will visible from long distance and the tree provide a relaxation when take rest under the holy tree of the temple. there is a mandapam which built around the banyan tree and decorated with mural paintings, the idol of lord nagaraja is installed in the mandapam.

From the mandapam twoards east the 60 feet gopuram focused at the eastern direction, there are 18 steps to reach at the sanctum of the thrikalanjoor mahadeva temple, the 18 ascending steps leads to the idols of prime deity. lord sastha is served as indilayappan in this temple, and also lord shiva is the prime deity of the temple. the unique feature of this temple is the presence of two flag posts is called dhwajas, the two dhwajas of the temple indicated the two main idols of lord shiva and ayyappa. the idols of lord shiva and ayyappa is face to face dimension in the sree kovil.

The annual festival is the main festival of this temple which usually falls in malayalam month meenam and end with thiru arattu. pathanamthitta is the nearest city to the temple which is a main bus station. thiruvalla is the nearest possible rail head and only railway station in pathanamthitta district.
