Thiruthani Murugan Temple is popular muruga temple in Tamilnadu , is one of the ancient temples in south India. the holy temple focused on the hill called thiruttani it has 365 steps to headed to the temple on the hill rock, the 365 steps of the temple refer the 3655 days of the year. this is one of the six adobes of lord muruga that means the six holly places in tamilnadu which provide significance to lord muruga that usually known as aru padaiveedu of lord muruga.

This is the fifth padai veedu of lord muruga, the all padaiveeds are spread all over in the state. lord muruga is also known as subrahmanya swami. the hill rock of the temple provide a panoramic view to the valley and the surrounding places. shangyumughar, avlli and deivayanii are the other sub deities of the temple. The main sanctum of the temple is made of 1 lakh rudrakshas, according to the hindu myths the temple has a great significance, this is the place where lord muruga take rest after killing the cruel demon surapadma so tha th e place is known as thanigai malai.

The uniqueness of the temple is the main deity muruga does not hold his weapon vel in his hand compared to the other temples. vasanta festival, vaikasi visagam , avani festival, masi festival are the great festivals celebrated in the temple on a grand way. The temple timing start at 5.30 am to 12.00 noon, after completing the morning rituals. the evening rituals start at 5. 00 pm and temple close at 9.00 pm. Thiruthani is the nearest city to the temple which easily connect to chennai and thirupathy. the nearest major rail head is located at chennai at a distance of 70 km. the nearest airport is loacted at chennai.
