Thamaramkulangara sri Dharma Sastha Temple is one of the main temple in ernakulam to worship lord ayyappa as a main deity, it is believed that the deity exist at thripunithura is an extension from dharma sastha temple at chamravattam. it is believed that the prime deity of the temple was originated from the deity at chamravattam and it says that lord here with the priest from that kshethram when he shifted from chamravattam to thripunithura on his palm made umbrella. this is the only kovil at thripunithura to worship ayyappa as main deity. it is also believed that the lord ayyappa here is an incarnation of dhanwanthari.

There are seven daily rituals performed in a day, this architecture was made by following kerala style. lord ayyappa placed in copper made sanctum sanatorium, sopanam steps and doors are covered with brass. lord ganesha, nagaraja, bhadrakali, brahmarakshas are the sub deities exist here, special poojas are performed also at the nada of upa devathas. the deity here treated with equal prominence at sabarimala, because rituals and festivals celebrated here in a grand way as same in sabarimala. makaravilakku is the annual festival hosts here. makara vilakku falls in the first day of malayalam month makaram. on the same day makara jyothy appeared at sabarimala.

Mandalavilakku celebrated on the 41st day of mandalakalam. uthram is the birth star of ayyappa and hence birthday ceremony of lord ayyappa most commonly known as panguni uthram, this is usually host on uthram star day of malayalam month meenam. except these vishu, navarathri, dwaja prathishta are also celebrated at Thamaramkulangara sri Dharma Sastha Temple. ayyappan pattu or saastham pattu is a unique ritual which for praising lord ayyappa by chanting the slogans in the form of a song. ernakulam bus station is 6 km away from the spot and thripunithura is he nearest rail head at a distance of 1 km. kochin international airport is about 25 km away from the temple.
