Sri villiputhur narayanan kovil is main place dedicate to lord vishnu called a divya desam. it located at virudhunngar district of tamil nadu state. lord vishnu is worshiped as vadapathrasayi and his consort lakshmi as andal. it is one of the ancient temples in tamilnadu which built by by following darvida style of architecture, it said that it was the birth place of periya azhwar and andal. panchamurthies, thumburu, sanat kumara, maha rishi, narada, sun and moon. saint andal respected in the form of goddess in the sanctum, rajagopuram of the temple showing the official seal seal of Tamil nadu state,

there is a story behind the origin of the place where temple located was ruled by queen malli earlier, sons of queen malli villi and kandan were hunting in the forest. during this time kandan was killed by a tiger. villi was fall into sleep and he got the information about his brother by the narration of sanctity. he found the place where his brother was killed, hence this place got the name sri villiputhur. adi pooram is the main festival conducts in sri villiputhur narayanan kovil, it is the process of carrying out the deity and consort in the chariot. it is celebrating usually july or august.

As usual in all vishnu temples vaikunda ekadashi is also hosts in a grand way, it celebrates either december or january. fasting for vaikunda ekadashi is equal to 23 normal ekadshis. thiru adi pooram festival on august. ennaikappu festival and pagal pathu adhyana utsavam are other two main festivals falls in december or january. there are six daily rituals mainly follows in sri villiputhur narayanan kovil. sri villiputhur is the nearest city at a distance of 10 km having the well facilities to connect by road and also the rail. nearest airport is located at madurai at a distance of 70 km.
