parassinikkadavu muthappan temple located at the banks of valapattanam river, according to the legends there was a childless brahmin lady belongs to ayyankara illam once she got a baby from eruveshithod pond, she became very happy and adopt him. when he became mature known as muthappan, he companies with peoples who belongs to low caste, but the members of the family was against him, so that he reject the life there, and he shows his devotional spirit to the family. there are different pagodas to worship muthappan which are known as madathukavu. madayans are the securities for madathukavu. the position is followed by a particular family.
