Panachikkad saraswathy devi temple situated from kottayam with a distance of 11 km,worshiped to goddess saraswathy,the temple is popular by the name dakkshina mookambika. panachikkad saraswathy temple located in a forest manner and deity posted in open air.ganapati, siva, Sasthavu and Yakshi are sub deities present here.there is a small village in between changancherry and kottayam road,4 kilmoeters traveling east from this place and hence we can reach the temple.
there are lot of people coming from all over india during navarathri festival to initiation of art forms and child to education.the image of the deity is not clearly visible it covered of leaves and shrubs,a spring water flow is present here it touches the feet of devi,the water of this flow never dries and this water is used in pooja requirements.the installation of brahmarakshas is more powerful and it host under ilanji and ezhilam pala.
In old days temple known as panachikkad vishnu temple,navarathri festival is the main festival organizes here are the saraswathy pooja in the month of malayalam era thulam which falls in gregorian calendar in september or october. the last day of navarathri known as vijayadasami, on that day people reach here to initiate the education of their children with primary alphabets this ceremony also known as ezhuthiniruthu .the cultural festival host here all day of navarathri with classical dance and music.
Temple timing start from 05.30 AM – 11.00 AM in morning hours and,evening timings is 05.00 PM – 07.30 PM.
