Neendoor murugan kshethrais one of the popular subrahmanyan temples in kerala located at neendoor in kottayam district. neendoor is a small villag famous for hosting many other temples also. it also known as neendoor subrahmanya temple. according to the hindu mythology there story of mahabharatha is close relate to this and it says that pancha pandavas and sage vyasa worshiped lord muruga here,. subrahmanya is also known as deva senapathy, that means the head of their force, the incarnation of lord muruga was to kill the cruel demon tharaka, and then he was in furious form. the installation of neendoor murugan kshethra is in furious form.

Neendoor murugan kshethra is built by following kerala style of architecture, there are six daily rituals performed in the temple. the deity installed in the sanctum in furious form with his weapon vel, which pointing downwards. the deity placed in a standing position. wood works are the highlight of the temple which carved out mostly from teaks. a stone deepa sthambha placed in front of the temple. vinayaka, sastha, bhadra kali, lord shiv are the sub deities housing in the vast temple structure. special rituals performed on Tuesday, because it is the special day for lord muruga.

Neendoor murugan kshethra considered same as aru padai veedu in tamil nadu with great significance, it is also famous for hosting the festivals in a grand way, arattu festival is the special occasion hosts in the temple which usually falls in april or may. thai poosam is another main festival that usually hosts in all muruga temples. vaikom and kottayam are the nearest cities with almost equal distance is about 21 km. frequent bus services easily connect to the temple either by private or KSRTC. the nearest rail head focused at kottayam
