Neelamega perumal kovil is famous for worshiping lord krishna with more prominence as vishnu is a main deity. so that it pancha kanan temple. there total five temples in tamil nadu counted as pancha kannan temples. it also popular for one among the 108 divya desams. neelamega perumal kovil also known as thanjai mamani kovil. it located near to kubhakoanam. lord vishnu in the temple as veera singa perumal and narasimha swami in a sitting posture. yoga narasimha installed in front of mandapa. there are five installations for lord narasimha in five different modes. it located at the outskirts of nagapattanam.
Thirukkannapura nayagi is the main installation for goddess lakshmi. neelamega perumal kovil has great architecture which is built by following Davida style. there is a huge raja gopuram belongs to the temple, it is a seven tier architecture, it sprawling an area about 1.5 acrs. mahamandapa in the temple structure leads to the sanctum. it also houses the idols of sri devi and bhoomi devi. senai mudhaliar, azhwars, Krishna are the main sub deities of neelamega perumal kovil. it also hosts the holy temple tank. temple has fifteen vimanas, it also known as soundarya vimanam. There is an idol for lord narasimha in the temple which made by bronze with eight hands, omn oe handlord secures his devotee prahlada and other hand is killing hiranya.
