Mangaladevi temple is a hindu temple in Karnataka famous for worshiping goddess sakthi as mangaladevi for the devotees. it located at the Bolara in Mangalore city. it is believed that the the name of the city which derived from the name of goddess at the temple. mangaladevi temple was built in 9th century. the temple architecture is very attracting one it showing some resemblances with the kerala style of architecture it made with wood, there will be a magic of woods throughout the temple. the prime deity goddess sakthi appeared as a sitting posture in the sanctum. the sanctum is surrounded with the rectangular stone boundaries, devotees head to the sanctum after climbing the five steps.

According to the hindu legends there are two sages named Machhendranatha and Gorakanatha, after hearing the news about the sages the king came to meet them, he provides all facilities for their meditation and accommodation, the sages requested the king to build a temple there. the king came to be know about the mangaladevi temple which was actually installed by lord parashurama. they asked the king to dig the place and relieve the lingam and dharpathra indicates mangaladevi and install them in a shrine along with nagaraja for providing protection. the king built a mass shrine to mangaladevi was built on hallowed place with the guidance of the sages, today the two temples are mangaladevi and kadri.

naavarathri festival is the main festival hosts at the temple, at the last day day of navarathri dasra celebrates very well every year. mangaladevi temple is located 3 km from mangalore city. frequent buses are available to the temple. the nearest airport and also the rail head is focused at mangalore city.
