Kanyakumari devi temple is also known as kumari amman temple located at kanyakumari district of Tamil nadu state famous for worshiping goddess devi. it is believed that the temple is 3000 year old one. according to hindu mythology it is believed that the temple was installed by lord parasurama the prime deity is goddess durga and this is the first temple which installed by lord parasurama, parsurama was an incarnation of lord vishnu. kanyakumari is the south most part of india.the temple is surrounded by a huge wall which protects the temple from the waves of the indian ocean.northern gate provides the entry to the temple eastern gate opens only in festival days.
