Kamaleswaram is the small village located in capital city of kerala which famous for worshiping lord shiva. kamaleswaram mahadeva temple is one of the main shiva temples in trivandrum. it is believed that the prime deity is more powerful one, so that villagers believed in the existence of the deity. lord shiva is installed in the main sanctum. except the main deity lord shiva, there are separate place for establishing sub deities like ganesh, nagaraja and madan thampuran. the sub deities are remade d after the deva preshna in recent days. The actual location of this temple is near to govt. higher secondary school at kamaleswaram.

The administration of kshethra is coming under travancore devaswom board. It is famous for celebrating all shiva festivals as usual in other in kerala. maha shivathri and thiruvathira are the main festivals celebrated here. Thiruvathira is considered as the birth star of lord shiva in malayalam month dhanu. it is believed that this is day when goddess parvathy meet lord shiva after his long penance. lord shiva accept her as equal part of him, this concept in Hinduism known as ardhanareeswara, that means, half man and half women.

How Reach:
Air- It is very easy to locate at nearest airport, trivandrum international airport is located very close to it,
at a distance of 6 km.
Rail- Trivandrum central rail head is located adjacent to kamaleswaram mahadeva temple at a distance of 3 km.
Bus- Thamapanoor is the nearest bus stand and it easily connect to main other cities by KSRTC. The distance between
kshethra and bus stand is about 4 km.

Temple timings:-
Morning- 5.30 am to 10.00 pm.
Evening- 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm
