Chakkulathukavu devi temple is a durga temple situated at neeretupuram in alappuzha district,the deity worshiped in the form of vanadurga, it is believed that the temple invented by tribes who lived in the forests years back.temple well popular by the visiting of pilgrims from all religions (sarvamatha theerthadanakendram) ,it along with the banks of the rivers pamba and manimala.

The main festivals in the temple are pongala and nareepooja.pongala festival is very popular it is an important offering done by only ladies in the day of pongala in malayalam month vrishchikam (november/december) the participation of ladies are very high.pongala is sweet dish made with boiled rice and Jaggerry, ghee, coconut gratings etc in an open small earthen pot.the final product of the pongala known as pongala nivedyam. it is believed that pongala nivedyam is a favorite offering to goddess to achieving good things in life.

nareepooja is not only an offering to devi but also it teaches everybody how can we respect the ladies in our society.the ponkala in 2017 held on december 3,sunday and and nareepooja on 22 december 2017,friday.Panthrandu Noyampu is another festival celebrated at the temple. This is the type of fasting and prayer which qualifies the devotee for eternal blessings of Chakkulathamma. This fasting starts every year from the first day of the Malayalam month of Dhanu till the twelth.thrikkarthika festival is celebrated here on karthika day in malayalam month vrishchikam.nirapara,kalamehuthu are other offering to durga.
